A Historic Timeline of the Penguin & Panda Algorithm Updates

Each year, Google changes its search algorithm around 500-600 times. While most of these changes are minor, Google occasionally rolls out a "major" algorithmic update (such as Google Panda and Google Penguin) that affects search results in significant ways. In 2014, there were a lot of changes made within Google's algorithm, especially with these two particular filters. The Panda update is a filter that is designed to penalize "thin" or poor content from ranking well. Whereas Penguin is a filter that is designed to penalize websites that have bad link building techniques and keyword stuffing. In this infographic, I will explore each of these penalties a little more and create a timeline of their history.
